She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Hay 6th Earl Erroll and [his grandmother] Helen or Eleanor Stewart Countess Erroll and Sutherland. He the son of George Hay 7th Earl Erroll [aged 44] and Margaret Robertson Countess Erroll. They were second cousin once removed. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

On 30th April 1564 Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll was born to Andrew Hay 8th Earl Erroll [aged 33] and Jean Hay [aged 24].

In August 1570 [his father] Andrew Hay 8th Earl Erroll [aged 39] and Agnes Sinclair Countess Erroll were married. She the daughter of George Sinclair 4th Earl Caithness. He the son of [his grandfather] George Hay 7th Earl Erroll [aged 62] and [his grandmother] Margaret Robertson Countess Erroll. They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 30th January 1573 [his grandfather] George Hay 7th Earl Erroll [aged 65] died. His son [his father] Andrew [aged 42] succeeded 8th Earl Erroll. Agnes Sinclair Countess Erroll by marriage Countess Erroll.

On 27th June 1584 Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 20] and Margaret Stewart Countess Erroll [aged 15] were married. She by marriage Countess Erroll. She the daughter of James Stewart 1st Earl of Moray Regent and Agnes Keith Countess Moray and Mar [aged 53]. He the son of Andrew Hay 8th Earl Erroll [aged 53] and Jean Hay [aged 44]. They were fourth cousins. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

In October 1584 Colin Campbell 6th Earl Argyll [aged 40] died. His son [his brother-in-law] Archibald [aged 9] succeeded 7th Earl Argyll. Agnes Douglas Countess Argyll [aged 10] by marriage Countess Argyll.

On 8th October 1585 [his father] Andrew Hay 8th Earl Erroll [aged 54] died. His son Francis [aged 21] succeeded 9th Earl Erroll.

In 1586 [his wife] Margaret Stewart Countess Erroll [aged 16] died.

Anne Boleyn. Her Life as told by Lancelot de Carle's 1536 Letter.

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. In 1592 [his daughter] Anne Hay Countess Winton was born to Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 27] and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. She married 26th April 1609 her fifth cousin George Seton 3rd Earl Winton, son of Robert Seton 1st Earl Winton and Margaret Montgomerie Countess Winton, and had issue.

3rd October 1594. The Battle of Glenlivet was battle fought between Protestant forces loyal to King James VI of Scotland [aged 28] who were commanded by [his former brother-in-law] Archibald Campbell 7th Earl Argyll [aged 19], against Catholic forces who were commanded by George Gordon, 6th Earl of Huntly [aged 2], and Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 30]. The Catholics won a decisive victory in the battle, but in the aftermath were subdued by King James.

Before 1597 [his son] William Hay 10th Earl Erroll was born to Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 32] and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. He married his fifth cousin Anne Lyon Countess Erroll, daughter of Patrick Lyon 1st Earl Kinghorne, and had issue.

On 26th April 1609 [his son-in-law] George Seton 3rd Earl Winton [aged 24] and Anne Hay Countess Winton [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 44] and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. He the son of Robert Seton 1st Earl Winton and Margaret Montgomerie Countess Winton. They were fifth cousins.

In 1615 [his daughter] Helen Hay was born to Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 50] and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. She died aged ten in 1625.

Around 15th October 1616 [his son-in-law] Walter Scott 1st Earl Buccleuch [aged 10] and Mary Hay Countess Buccleuch were married. She the daughter of Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 52] and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. They were fifth cousin once removed.

In 1625 [his daughter] Helen Hay [aged 10] died.

In 1628 [his daughter] Anne Hay Countess Winton [aged 36] died.

On 16th July 1631 Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll [aged 67] died. His son William [aged 34] succeeded 10th Earl Erroll.

[his daughter] Mary Hay Countess Buccleuch was born to Francis Hay 9th Earl Erroll and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Erroll. She married 15th October 1616 her fifth cousin once removed Walter Scott 1st Earl Buccleuch and had issue.

The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy

The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England.
