Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville 1890-1967

On 16th July 1881 Claude Bowes-Lyon 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 26] and Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 18] were married at the Church of St Peter Petersham, Surrey. He the son of [her grandfather] Claude Bowes-Lyon 13th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 56] and [her grandmother] Frances Dora Smith Countess Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 48].

On 6th May 1890 Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville was born to Claude Bowes-Lyon 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 35] and Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 27].

On 16th February 1904 [her grandfather] Claude Bowes-Lyon 13th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 79] died at Bordighera, Imperia. His son Claude [aged 48] succeeded 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne. Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 41] by marriage Countess Strathmore and Kinghorne.

On 21st November 1908 [her brother] Patrick Bowes-Lyon 15th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 24] and [her sister-in-law] Dorothy Beatrix Godolphin Osborne [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of George Godolphin Osborne 10th Duke Leeds [aged 46] and Katherine Frances Lambton Duchess Leeds [aged 46]. He the son of [her father] Claude Bowes-Lyon 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 53] and [her mother] Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 46]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

The funeral of the Earl of Leven and Melville [John Leslie-Melville 12th Earl of Leven 11th Earl of Melville [deceased]], who died last week in London from injuries received in an accident in the hunting field, took place in Scotland to-day. A memorial service was held at St. Mary's Church, Bryanston-square, W., this afternoon. On 24th May 1916 William Leveson-Gower 4th Earl Granville [aged 35] and Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 26] were married. She the daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 61] and Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 53]. He the son of Granville Leveson-Gower 2nd Earl Granville and Sophia Castila Rosamund Campbell Countess Granville [aged 68]. They were third cousin once removed.

On 12th December 1917 [her daughter] Mary Cecilia Leveson-Gower was born to [her husband] William Leveson-Gower 4th Earl Granville [aged 37] and Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 27].

On 6th December 1918 [her son] Granville James Leveson-Gower 5th Earl Granville was born to [her husband] William Leveson-Gower 4th Earl Granville [aged 38] and Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 28]. He married 1958 Doon Aileen Plunket and had issue.

On 30th October 1930 Princess Margaret was baptised at the Chapel Buckingham Palace by Archbishop Cosmo Gordon Lang [aged 65]. Her aunt Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 40] was godmother.

On 23rd June 1938 Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 75] died.

On 21st July 1939 [her brother-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 3rd Earl Granville [aged 67] died without issue. His brother William [aged 59] succeeded 4th Earl Granville, 4th Viscount Granville. Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 49] by marriage Countess Granville.

On 7th November 1944 Claude Bowes-Lyon 14th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 89] died. His son Patrick [aged 60] succeeded 15th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne. [her sister-in-law] Dorothy Beatrix Godolphin Osborne [aged 55] by marriage Countess Strathmore and Kinghorne.

On 25th May 1949 [her brother] Patrick Bowes-Lyon 15th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne [aged 64] died at Angus. His son Timothy [aged 31] succeeded 16th Earl Strathmore and Kinghorne.

On 25th June 1953 [her husband] William Leveson-Gower 4th Earl Granville [aged 72] died. His son Granville [aged 34] succeeded 5th Earl Granville, 5th Viscount Granville.

In 1958 Granville James Leveson-Gower 5th Earl Granville [aged 39] and Doon Aileen Plunket were married. He the son of William Leveson-Gower 4th Earl Granville and Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 67].

On 17th November 1967 Rose Constance Bowes-Lyon Countess Granville [aged 77] died.
