On 15th December 1881 Yvo Vesey 5th Viscount de Vesci was born to Eustace Vesey [aged 30] and Constance Mary Lawley [aged 27].

On 28th October 1882 [his future wife] Frances Lois Lister-Kaye Viscountess de Vesci died.

In 1886 [his father] Eustace Vesey [aged 35] died.

On 7th July 1892 [his step-father] Edward William Berkeley Portman [aged 35] and [his mother] Constance Mary Lawley [aged 38] were married.

On 6th July 1903 [his uncle] John "Yvo" Vesey 4th Viscount Vesci [aged 59] died without male issue. His nephew Yvo [aged 21] succeeded 5th Viscount Vesci of Abbeyleix in Queen's County, 6th Baron Knapton, 7th Baronet Vesey of Abbeyleix. Susan Armstrong-Jones Viscountess Vesci by marriage Viscountess Vesci of Abbeyleix in Queen's County.

On 24th April 1906 Yvo Vesey 5th Viscount de Vesci [aged 24] and Georgiana Victoria Wellesley Viscountess de Vesci [aged 24] were married. She by marriage Georgiana Victoria Wellesley Viscountess de Vesci.

The funeral of the Earl of Leven and Melville [John Leslie-Melville 12th Earl of Leven 11th Earl of Melville [deceased]], who died last week in London from injuries received in an accident in the hunting field, took place in Scotland to-day. A memorial service was held at St. Mary's Church, Bryanston-square, W., this afternoon. Among the congregation were the Duke and Duchess of Somerset, the Marchioness of Salisbury and Lady Beatrice Ormsby-Gore [aged 21], the Countess of Strathmore [aged 50] and Lady Rose Bowes-Lyon [aged 23], the Countess of Desart [aged 59], Countess Waldegrave [aged 63], the Countess of Dartrey [aged 51], the Earl [aged 61] and Countess [aged 59] of Verulam, Viscount Althorp [aged 21] and Lady Adelaide Spencer [aged 24], Viscount De Vesci [aged 31], Captain and Lady Nina Balfour, the Dowager Lady Leaconfield, Viscount Maidstone, and Lord Reay.

In 1919 Yvo Vesey 5th Viscount de Vesci [aged 37] and Georgiana Victoria Wellesley Viscountess de Vesci [aged 37] were divorced.

Memoires of Jacques du Clercq

This is a translation of the 'Memoires of Jacques du Clercq', published in 1823 in two volumes, edited by Frederic, Baron de Reissenberg. In his introduction Reissenberg writes: 'Jacques du Clercq tells us that he was born in 1424, and that he was a licentiate in law and a counsellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, in the castellany of Douai, Lille, and Orchies. It appears that he established his residence at Arras. In 1446, he married the daughter of Baldwin de la Lacherie, a gentleman who lived in Lille. We read in the fifth book of his Memoirs that his father, also named Jacques du Clercq, had married a lady of the Le Camelin family, from Compiègne. His ancestors, always attached to the counts of Flanders, had constantly served them, whether in their councils or in their armies.' The Memoires cover a period of nineteen years beginning in in 1448, ending in in 1467. It appears that the author had intended to extend the Memoirs beyond that date; no doubt illness or death prevented him from carrying out this plan. As Reissenberg writes the 'merit of this work lies in the simplicity of its narrative, in its tone of good faith, and in a certain air of frankness which naturally wins the reader’s confidence.' Du Clercq ranges from events of national and international importance, including events of the Wars of the Roses in England, to simple, everyday local events such as marriages, robberies, murders, trials and deaths, including that of his own father in Book 5; one of his last entries.

Before 16th August 1958 Yvo Vesey 5th Viscount de Vesci [aged 76] and Frances Lois Lister-Kaye Viscountess de Vesci were married.

On 16th August 1958 Yvo Vesey 5th Viscount de Vesci [aged 76] died. His nephew John [aged 39] succeeded 6th Viscount Vesci of Abbeyleix in Queen's County, 7th Baron Knapton, 8th Baronet Vesey of Abbeyleix.
