Around 6th January 1607 [his father] James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 27] and [his mother] Honora Denny were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Edward Denny 1st Earl Norwich [aged 37] and [his grandmother] Mary Cecil Countess Norwich.

In 1612 James Hay 2nd Earl Carlisle was born to James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 32] and Honora Denny.

On 16th August 1614 [his mother] Honora Denny died.

On 6th November 1617 [his father] James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 37] and [his step-mother] Lucy Percy Countess Carlisle [aged 17] were married. See Diary of Anne Clifford. The difference in their ages was 20 years. She the daughter of Henry "Wizard Earl" Percy 9th Earl of Northumberland [aged 53] and Dorothy Devereux Countess Northumberland [aged 53].

Before 20th August 1618 [his father] James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 38] was created 1st Viscount Doncaster.

In 1622 [his father] James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 42] was created 1st Earl Carlisle. [his step-mother] Lucy Percy Countess Carlisle [aged 22] by marriage Countess Carlisle.

In 1624 James Hay 2nd Earl Carlisle [aged 12] was appointed 419th Knight of the Garter by King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland [aged 57].

In 1632 James Hay 2nd Earl Carlisle [aged 20] and Margaret Russell Countess Manchester and Carlisle were married. She the daughter of Francis Russell 4th Earl Bedford [aged 39] and Catherine Brydges Countess Bedford [aged 52]. He the son of James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 52] and Honora Denny. They were fourth cousins.

In March 1636 [his father] James Hay 1st Earl Carlisle [aged 56] died. His son James [aged 24] succeeded 2nd Earl Carlisle, 2nd Viscount Doncaster. [his wife] Margaret Russell Countess Manchester and Carlisle by marriage Countess Carlisle.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 30th October 1660 James Hay 2nd Earl Carlisle [aged 48] died. Earl Carlisle, Viscount Doncaster extinct.

On 31st July 1667 Edward Montagu 2nd Earl Manchester [aged 65] and [his wife] Margaret Russell Countess Manchester and Carlisle were married. She by marriage Countess Manchester. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] Francis Russell 4th Earl Bedford and [his mother-in-law] Catherine Brydges Countess Bedford. He the son of Henry Montagu 1st Earl Manchester and Catherine Spencer.
