In or after 1557 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet was born to Edward Mansel of Margam [aged 26] and Jane Somerset [aged 27].
In or before 1588 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 30] and Catherine Morgan were married.
Around 1588 [his son] Walter Mansel 2nd Baronet was born to Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 30] and [his wife] Catherine Morgan. He married on or after 2nd August 1623 Elizabeth aka Mary Fotherby, daughter of Charles Fotherby and Cecilia Waller, and had issue.
After 1588 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 31] and Dorothy Stepney were married.
In 1594 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 36] was appointed High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire.
On 5th August 1595 [his father] Edward Mansel of Margam [aged 64] died.
On 16th October 1597 [his mother] Jane Somerset [aged 67] died.
Before 1607 [his son-in-law] John Stepney 1st Baronet [aged 25] and [his daughter] Jane Mansel Lady Stepney were married. They were uncle and niece.
In 1610 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 52] was appointed High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire.
The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy
The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. On 14th January 1622 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 65] was created 1st Baronet Mansel of Muddlescombe.
On or after 2nd August 1623 [his son] Walter Mansel 2nd Baronet [aged 35] and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth aka Mary Fotherby [aged 9] were married. The difference in their ages was 26 years.
After 1628 [his former wife] Dorothy Stepney died.
Before 2nd December 1628 Francis Mansel 1st Baronet [aged 71] died. His will was adminstered on 2nd December 1628. His son Walter [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Baronet Mansel of Muddlescombe.
[his son] Anthony Mansel of Ischoed was born to Francis Mansel 1st Baronet and Catherine Morgan.
[his son] John Mansel was born to Francis Mansel 1st Baronet and Dorothy Stepney.
[his daughter] Jane Mansel Lady Stepney was born to Francis Mansel 1st Baronet and Dorothy Stepney. She married before 1607 her uncle John Stepney 1st Baronet and had issue.
[his father] Edward Mansel of Margam and [his mother] Jane Somerset were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry Somerset 2nd Earl of Worcester and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Browne Countess of Worcester.
