Before 1496 [his father] Giles Capell of Rayne Hall [aged 15] and [his mother] Isabel Newton [aged 10] were married.
On 25th October 1505 Henry Capell was born to Giles Capell of Rayne Hall [aged 25] and Isabel Newton [aged 20].
Around 1512 [his mother] Isabel Newton [aged 27] died. Her son Henry Capell [aged 6] inherited her estates at Ubley in Somerset.
On 1st June 1533 the six months pregnant Queen Anne Boleyn of England [aged 32] was crowned Queen Consort England by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer [aged 43] at Westminster Abbey [Map].
John de Vere 15th Earl of Oxford [aged 62] bore the Crown. Henry Grey 1st Duke of Suffolk [aged 16] carried the Salt. Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset [aged 46] rode in the procession. William Coffin [aged 38] was appointed Master of the Horse. Robert Radclyffe 1st Earl of Sussex [aged 50] served as Lord Sewer. Henry Parker [aged 20] and William Coffin were knighted. Thomas Berkeley 6th Baron Berkeley [aged 28], Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle [aged 26] and Henry Capell [aged 27] were created Knight of the Bath. Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset rode in the procession. Arthur Hopton [aged 44] attended.
Thomas More [aged 55] refused to attend. Shortly thereafter, More was charged with accepting bribes, but the charges had to be dismissed for lack of any evidence.
Anne Braye Baroness Cobham [aged 32] was the attendant horsewoman.
Charles Wriothesley [aged 25] attended.
In 1547 Henry Capell [aged 41] was elected MP Somerset.
On 29th May 1556 [his father] Giles Capell of Rayne Hall [aged 76] died at Little Hadham, Hertfordshire [Map].
Before 1558 Henry Capell [aged 52] and Anne Manners were married. They had several children who predeceased him.
On 1st February 1558 Henry Capell [aged 52] died. He was buried at St Bartholomew by the Exchange Church. His estates were inherited by his brother [his half-brother] Edward Capell [aged 62] whose son Henry Capell [aged 32] had married his wife's niece Catherine Manners [aged 18].
Henry Machyn's Diary. 3rd February 1558. The iij day of February was browth unto sant Bathelmuw be-syd sant Antonys to be bered [by his] granser ser [his grandfather] Wylliam Capell knyght, and mare of London, ser Hare Capell [deceased] knyght sune and here to ser [his father] Gylles Capell, the wyche ser Gylles was bered in Essex. [Sir Harry was] bered by ys granser with iij haroldes of armes, and a standard, and a penon of armes; and cott-armur, targett, sword, and elmett and crest; and all the cheyrche hangyd with blake and armes; and a ij dosen of torchys, and iiij grett tapurs, and iiij gylt candyllstykes, and ij grett whytt branchys; and xij pore men had blake gowns; and after to the howse to dener; and doctur Brekett mad the sermon at the masse.
Note. P. 164. Funeral of sir Henry Capel. Son and heir of sir Giles Capel, before noticed in p. 350. He had married a sister of the earl of Rutland, and had a numerous family; but, as they all died before him, he was succeeded by his brother [his half-brother] Edward [aged 62].
