In or before 943 King Edmund I of England and Aelfgifu of Shaftesbury Queen Consort England were married. She by marriage Queen Consort England. He the son of King Edward "Elder" of the Anglo Saxons and Eadgifu Kent Queen Anglo Saxons.

In or before 958 King Eadwig I of England and Ælfgifu Queen Consort of England were married. She by marriage Queen Consort England. The were separated in 958 on the instruction of Archbishop Oda for being too closely related. He the son of King Edmund I of England and Aelfgifu of Shaftesbury Queen Consort England.

On 11th May 1068 Matilda Flanders Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England at Westminster Abbey.

On 11th November 1100, three months after acceeding to the throne, King Henry I "Beauclerc" England and Matilda of Scotland were married. She was crowned Queen Consort England. Baptised Edith she took the regnal name Matilda. The marriage brought together the houses of Normandy and Wessex; she was a great granddaughter of King Edmund I of England. She the daughter of King Malcolm III of Scotland and Margaret Wessex Queen Consort Scotland. He the son of King William "Conqueror" I of England and Matilda Flanders Queen Consort England.

On 24th January 1121, three months after the disaster that was the 25th November 1120-Sinking of The White Ship in which Henry's only legitimate son was drowned, with King Henry needing an heir quickly, he and Adeliza of Louvain were married at Windsor Castle. She by marriage Queen Consort England. Despite fourteen years of marriage they didn't have any children. Following Henry's death she married William D'Aubigny 1st Earl Lincoln 1st Earl of Arundel with whom she had seven children. The difference in their ages was 35 years. On the fourth of the calends of February [29th January 1121] the maiden already mentioned as selected for queen was married to the king by William, bishop of Winchester, at the command of Ralph, archbishop of Canterbury; and on the following day, the third of the calends of February (30th January), she was consecrated and crowned as queen by the archbishop in person.

She was crowned Queen Consort England the same day by the Hélie de Malemort, archbishop of Bordeaux, Jean aka John Fitz Luke, bishop of Évreux and Bernard II de Lacarre, Bishop of Bayonne. She the daughter of Sancho "Wise" King Navarre and Sancha Ivrea. He the son of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine Queen Consort Franks and England.

Richard's mother and sister Eleanor of Aquitaine Queen Consort Franks and England and Joan Plantagenet Queen Consort Sicily were present.

On 8th October 1200 Isabella of Angoulême Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England at Westminster Abbey.

On 20th January 1236 Eleanor of Provence Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England at Westminster Abbey.

On 16th November 1272 King Henry III of England died at Westminster. King Edward I of England succeeded I King of England. Eleanor of Castile Queen Consort England by marriage Queen Consort England.

On 10th September 1299 King Edward I of England and Margaret of France Queen Consort England were married at Canterbury Cathedral. She by marriage Queen Consort England. The difference in their ages was 39 years. She the daughter of King Philip III of France and Maria of Brabant Queen Consort France. He the son of King Henry III of England and Eleanor of Provence Queen Consort England.

The marriage was the quid pro quo for her father William of Avesnes I Count Hainaut III Count Avesnes III Count Holland II Count Zeeland having supported his mother Isabella of France Queen Consort England and Roger Mortimer 1st Earl March returning to England to usurp the throne of Edward's father King Edward II of England.

On 20th January 1382 King Richard II of England and Anne of Bohemia Queen Consort England were married at Westminster Abbey by Bishop Robert Braybrooke. She by marriage Queen Consort England. She the daughter of Charles IV King Bohemia Holy Roman Emperor Luxembourg and Elizabeth Pomerania Holy Roman Empress Luxembourg. He the son of Edward "Black Prince" and Joan "Fair Maid of Kent" Princess Wales.

It was the first royal wedding that including a Royal Procession from the Tower of London to Westminster Abbey.

Arranged by Michael de la Pole 1st Earl Suffolk the marriage not popular since it brought no dowry and little prospect of increased trade since Bohemia not a primary English trade partner.

On 22nd January 1382 Anne of Bohemia Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England by Archbishop William Courtenay (even though he had not received his Pall from the Pope.)

On 8th January 1397 Isabella Valois Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England.

On 26th February 1403 Joanna of Navarre Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England at Westminster Abbey.

On 24th February 1421 Catherine of Valois was crowned Queen Consort England at Westminster Abbey by Archbishop Henry Chichele. Robert Willoughby 6th Baron Willoughby was appointed Chief Butler of England. James I attended, and was honoured by sitting immediately on the queen's left at the coronation banquet.

On 30th May 1445, five weeks after her marriage, Margaret of Anjou Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort England by Archbishop John Stafford at Westminster Abbey.

On 6th July 1483 King Richard III of England and his wife Anne Neville at Westminster Abbey. Duke Gloucester, Earl Richmond forfeit merged with the Crown. Cardinal Thomas Bourchier officiated. Anne Neville Queen Consort England by marriage Queen Consort England.

John de la Pole 2nd Duke of Suffolk carried the Sceptre. John de la Pole Earl Lincoln 1st carried the Cross and Ball. Henry Stafford 2nd Duke of Buckingham carried the king's train. Edward Stafford 2nd Earl Wiltshire bore the Queen's Crown.

Thomas Stanley 1st Earl of Derby carried the Lord High Constable's Mace. Margaret Beaufort Countess Richmond held Queen Anne's train. Henry Percy 4th Earl of Northumberland carried The Blunt Sword of Mercy. Christopher Willoughby 10th Baron Willoughby was appointed Knight of the Bath.

Humphrey Dacre 1st Baron Dacre Gilsland attended.

Cecily "Rose of Raby" Neville Duchess York refused to attend the Coronation of King Richard III. History doesn't record her reason.

On 24th June 1509 Henry VIII was crowned VIII King of England at Westminster Abbey. Catherine of Aragon was crowned Queen Consort England.

Edward Stafford 3rd Duke of Buckingham, Thomas Boleyn 1st Earl Wiltshire and Ormonde and Thomas Howard 2nd Duke of Norfolk attended. Henry Clifford 1st Earl of Cumberland was knighted. Robert Dymoke attended as the Kings's Champion. Robert Radclyffe 1st Earl of Sussex was created Knight of the Bath and served as Lord Sewer.

On 1st June 1533 the six months pregnant Queen Anne Boleyn of England was crowned Queen Consort England by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer at Westminster Abbey.

John de Vere 15th Earl of Oxford bore the Crown. Henry Grey 1st Duke of Suffolk carried the Salt. Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset rode in the procession. William Coffin was appointed Master of the Horse. Robert Radclyffe 1st Earl of Sussex served as Lord Sewer. Henry Parker and William Coffin were knighted. Thomas More refused to attend. Shortly thereafter, More was charged with accepting bribes, but the charges had to be dismissed for lack of any evidence.

On 6th January 1540 Henry VIII and Anne of Cleves were married by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer at the Palace of Placentia, Greenwich. Anne of Cleves was crowned Queen Consort England. The difference in their ages was 24 years. She the daughter of John de la Marck III Duke Cleves and Maria Jülich Berg Duchess Cleves. He the son of King Henry VII of England and Ireland and Elizabeth York Queen Consort England.

Catherine Carey and Eleanor Paston Countess Rutland were appointed Lady in Waiting to Anne of Cleves Queen Consort England.

On 28th July 1540 Henry VIII and Catherine Howard were married at Oatlands Palace by Bishop of London Edmund Bonner. She by marriage Queen Consort England. The difference in their ages was 31 years. He the son of King Henry VII of England and Ireland and Elizabeth York Queen Consort England.

On 12th July 1543 Henry VIII and Catherine Parr were married at Hampton Court Palace. She was crowned Queen Consort England. His sixth and last marriage, her third marriage; her previous husband had died four months before. The difference in their ages was 21 years. He the son of King Henry VII of England and Ireland and Elizabeth York Queen Consort England.

Henry's two daughters Mary and Elizabeth attended, as did his niece Margaret Douglas Countess Lennox.

Catherine's sister Anne attended with her husband William Herbert 1st Earl Pembroke.

On 29th January 1820 King George III of Great Britain and Ireland died at Windsor Castle. His reign the third longest after Victoria and Elizabeth II. On 9th August 1902 King Edward VII of the United Kingdom was crowned VII King of the United Kingdom at Westminster Abbey. Alexandra of Denmark Queen Consort England was crowned Queen Consort by Archbishop William Dalrymple Maclagan.

Winifred, Duchess of Portland, wearing the Portland Diamond Tiara, commissioned esppecially for the event, served as a canopy bearer to Queen Alexandra.

Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland

On 6th February 1685 King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland died around midday the morning at Whitehall Palace attended by Charles Scarburgh. King James II of England Scotland and Ireland succeeded II King England Scotland and Ireland. Duke York merged with the Crown. Mary of Modena Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland by marriage Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland. His brother King James II of England Scotland and Ireland, William Chiffinch, Richard Mason and Archbishop William Sancroft were present.

The time of his death reported differtently by different contemporary sources: John Evelyn's Diary 'at halfe an houre after eleven in the morning', the Anonymous Letter to Reverend Roper: 'Yesterday noon', Ambassador Barillon's Account: 'and at noon, he died without any struggle or convulsion.' and Charl;es Scarburgh's Manuscript: 'He expired on February the Sixth soon after noon'.

According to Mark Bryant's book "Private Lives: Curious Facts about the Famous and Infamous' King Charles is supposed to have said the much repested phrase: "I am sorry, gentlemen, for being such a time a-dying." This doesn't appear to come from a contemporary source. Macaulay in his 'History of England', writing much later has "He apologised to those who had stood round him all night for the trouble which he had caused. He had been, he said, a most unconscionable time dying; but he hoped that they would excuse it." Perhaps the nearest we can find in a contemporary source is the Anonymous Letter to Reverend Roper: 'and beg the pardon of the standers by, and those that were employed about him, that he gave them so much trouble: that he hoped the work was almost over...'

On 23rd April 1685 King James II of England Scotland and Ireland was crowned II King England Scotland and Ireland by Archbishop William Sancroft. Mary of Modena Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland crowned Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland.
