On 1st May 1561 [his father] Thomas Darcy [aged 19] and [his mother] Elizabeth Conyers [aged 16] were married. They were third cousin once removed.
In August 1570 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers was born to Thomas Darcy [aged 28] and Elizabeth Conyers [aged 25].
On 6th June 1572 [his mother] Elizabeth Conyers [aged 27] died.
Before 1599 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 28] and Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 26] were married. They were half fourth cousins.
On 24th January 1599 [his son] Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness was born to Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 28] and [his wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 27]. He was baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Hambleton on the same day. He married 14th October 1616 Grace Rokeby and had issue.
On 3rd May 1600 [his daughter] Dorothy Darcy was born to Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 29] and [his wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 28].
On 6th November 1605 [his father] Thomas Darcy [aged 63] died at Hornby Castle [Map].
Before 4th June 1615 [his son] Marmaduke Darcy was born to Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 44] and [his wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 43].
On 14th October 1616 [his son] Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness [aged 17] and [his daughter-in-law] Grace Rokeby [aged 16] were married.
This is a translation of the 'Memoires of Jacques du Clercq', published in 1823 in two volumes, edited by Frederic, Baron de Reissenberg. In his introduction Reissenberg writes: 'Jacques du Clercq tells us that he was born in 1424, and that he was a licentiate in law and a counsellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, in the castellany of Douai, Lille, and Orchies. It appears that he established his residence at Arras. In 1446, he married the daughter of Baldwin de la Lacherie, a gentleman who lived in Lille. We read in the fifth book of his Memoirs that his father, also named Jacques du Clercq, had married a lady of the Le Camelin family, from Compiègne. His ancestors, always attached to the counts of Flanders, had constantly served them, whether in their councils or in their armies.' The Memoires cover a period of nineteen years beginning in in 1448, ending in in 1467. It appears that the author had intended to extend the Memoirs beyond that date; no doubt illness or death prevented him from carrying out this plan. As Reissenberg writes the 'merit of this work lies in the simplicity of its narrative, in its tone of good faith, and in a certain air of frankness which naturally wins the reader’s confidence.' Du Clercq ranges from events of national and international importance, including events of the Wars of the Roses in England, to simple, everyday local events such as marriages, robberies, murders, trials and deaths, including that of his own father in Book 5; one of his last entries.

He married in or before 1650 his third cousin once removed Isabel Wyvill, daughter of Marmaduke Wyvill 2nd Baronet, and had issue.
In 1641 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 70] was created 1st Baron Darcy of Meinhill. [his wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 69] by marriage Baroness Darcy of Meinhill.
In 1641 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 70] abeyance terminated 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth. [his wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 69] by marriage Baroness Darcy of Knayth.
Around 1644 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 73] abeyance terminated 4th Baron Conyers. His mother Elizabeth Conyers was a daughter of John Conyers 3rd Baron Conyers. Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 72] by marriage Baroness Conyers.
In or before 1650 James Darcy [aged 32] and Isabel Wyvill [aged 24] were married. They had three sons and four daughters. They were third cousin once removed.
On 3rd March 1653 Conyers Darcy 7th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 1st Baron Darcy Meinhill, 4th Baron Conyers [aged 82] died. His son Conyers [aged 54] succeeded 8th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 5th Baron Conyers, 2nd Baron Darcy of Meinhill
On 11th May 1653 [his former wife] Dorothy Belasyse Baroness Darcy and Conyers [aged 81] died.
