Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck 1868-1927

On 12th June 1866 [his father] Francis Teck [aged 28] and [his mother] Princess Mary Adelaide Hanover [aged 32] were married at St Anne's Church Kew, Surrey. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Adolphus Hanover 1st Duke Cambridge and [his grandmother] Princess Augusta Hesse-Kassel Duchess Cambridge [aged 68]. They were third cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland. She a granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 13th August 1868 Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck was born to Francis Teck [aged 30] and Princess Mary Adelaide Hanover [aged 34] at Kensington Palace. He a great grandson of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 6th July 1893 [his brother-in-law] King George V of the United Kingdom [aged 28] and [his sister] Victoria Mary Teck Queen Consort England [aged 26] were married at Chapel Royal, St James's Palace. She by marriage Duchess York. He the son of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom [aged 51] and Alexandra of Denmark Queen Consort England [aged 48]. They were second cousin once removed. She a great granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

In 1894 Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 25] and Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 20] were married at Eaton Hall, Cheshire [Map]. She the daughter of Hugh Lupus Grosvenor 1st Duke Westminster [aged 68] and Constance Leveson-Gower Duchess Westminster.

On 11th October 1895 [his son] George Cambridge 2nd Marquess Cambridge was born to Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 27] and [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 22] at Grosvenor House Park Lane. He a great x 2 grandson of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland. He married 10th April 1923 Dorothy Hastings Marchioness Cambridge and had issue.

On 12th June 1897 [his daughter] Mary Cambridge Duchess Beaufort was born to Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 28] and [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 24]. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland. She married 14th June 1923 her half fourth cousin Henry Hugh Arthur Fitzroy Somerset 10th Duke Beaufort, son of Henry Adelbert Wellington Fitzroy 9th Duke Beaufort and Louise Emily Harford 9th Duchess Beaufort.

On 27th October 1897 [his mother] Princess Mary Adelaide Hanover [aged 63] died at White Lodge Richmond Park, Surrey. She was buried at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle [Map].

On 23rd October 1899 [his daughter] Helena Cambridge was born to Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 31] and [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 26]. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 21st January 1900 [his father] Francis Teck [aged 62] died. His son Adolphus [aged 31] succeeded Duke Teck. [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 26] by marriage Duchess Teck.

On 23rd September 1907 [his son] Frederick Cambridge was born to Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 39] and [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 34] at Vienna [Map]. He a great x 2 grandson of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 6th May 1910 King Edward VII of the United Kingdom [aged 68] died. His son [his brother-in-law] George [aged 44] succeeded V King of the United Kingdom. [his sister] Victoria Mary Teck Queen Consort England [aged 42] by marriage Queen Consort England.

On 17th July 1917 Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 48] was created 1st Marquess Cambridge. [his wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 44] by marriage Marchioness Cambridge.

On 7th November 1917 [his brother] Alexander Teck 1st Earl Athlone [aged 43] was created 1st Earl Athlone. [his sister-in-law] Princess Alice Countess Athlone [aged 34] by marriage Countess Athlone.

On 28th February 1922 Henry Lascelles 6th Earl Harewood [aged 39] and [his niece] Princess Mary Windsor Countess Harewood [aged 24] were married at Westminster Abbey [Map]. His best-man was Major Victor Mackenzie 3rd Baronet [aged 39]. Her bridesmaids included Doris Hilda Gordon-Lennox [aged 25], Mary Cambridge Duchess Beaufort [aged 24], Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon [aged 21], Princess Maud Duff Countess Southesk [aged 28], Rachel Cavendish [aged 20], Helen Diana Bridgeman [aged 14], Mary Beatrice Thynne Baroness Nunburnholme [aged 18] and Princess May of Teck [aged 16]. The wedding was attending by her father and mother King George V of the United Kingdom [aged 56] and Victoria Mary Teck Queen Consort England [aged 54]. She the daughter of King George V of the United Kingdom and Victoria Mary Teck Queen Consort England. He the son of Henry Ulrick Lascelles 5th Earl Harewood [aged 75] and Florence Katharine Bridgeman Countess Harewood [aged 63].

On 10th April 1923 George Cambridge 2nd Marquess Cambridge [aged 27] and Dorothy Hastings Marchioness Cambridge [aged 23] were married. She by marriage Marchioness Cambridge. He the son of Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 54] and Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 50].

On 14th June 1923 [his son-in-law] Henry Hugh Arthur Fitzroy Somerset 10th Duke Beaufort [aged 23] and Mary Cambridge Duchess Beaufort [aged 26] were married. She by marriage Duchess Beaufort. She the daughter of Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 54] and Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 50]. He the son of Henry Adelbert Wellington Fitzroy 9th Duke Beaufort [aged 76] and Louise Emily Harford 9th Duchess Beaufort [aged 58]. They were half fourth cousins. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 24th October 1927 Adolphus Cambridge Duke Teck [aged 59] died. He was buried at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle [Map]. His son George [aged 32] succeeded 2nd Marquess Cambridge.

On 27th March 1929 [his former wife] Margaret Evelyn Grosvenor Duchess Teck [aged 55] died.
