Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon 1782-1859

In 1780 [his father] Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham [aged 41] and [his mother] Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham [aged 23] were married. She by marriage Baroness Grantham. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke [aged 59] and [his grandmother] Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey [aged 56].

On 1st November 1782 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon was born to Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham [aged 43] and Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham [aged 26].

On 20th July 1786 [his father] Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham [aged 47] died. His son [his brother] Thomas [aged 4] succeeded 3rd Baron Grantham.

In 1792 Norton Robinson 5th Baronet [aged 77] died. His first cousin once removed [his brother] Thomas [aged 10] succeeded 6th Baronet Robinson of Newby in Yorkshire.

On 20th July 1805 [his brother] Thomas de Grey 2nd Earl de Grey [aged 23] and [his sister-in-law] Henrietta Cole Countess de Grey [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of William Willoughby Cole 1st Earl Enniskillen and Anne Lowry-Corry Countess Enniskillen.

In 1814 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 31] and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of Robert Hobart 4th Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 53] and Margaretta Bourke.

On 22nd May 1815 [his daughter] Eleanor Henrietta Robinson was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 32] and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 22]. She died aged eleven in 1826.

In 1816 [his aunt] Amabel Yorke Countess Grey [aged 64] was created 1st Countess de Grey with a special remainder to her sister [his mother] Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham [aged 59] and her sister's male heirs.

In September 1816 [his son] Hobart Frederick Robinson was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 33] and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 23].

On 31st October 1826 [his daughter] Eleanor Henrietta Robinson [aged 11] died. She has a monument at All Saints' Church, Nocton [Map] sculpted by Richard Westmacott [aged 51].

Eleanor Henrietta Robinson: On 22nd May 1815 she was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart.

The King has been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Viscount of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Frederick John Robinson [aged 44], and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Viscount Goderich, of Nocton, in the county of Lincoln.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto James Earl of Fife, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Fife, of the county Fife.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Sir Charles Abbott [aged 64], Knt Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the namey stile, and title, of Baron Tenterden, of Hendon, in the county of Middlesex.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable William Conyngham Plunket [aged 62], and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Plunket, of Newtown, in, the county of Cork.

In August 1827 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 44] was appointed Prime Minister.

On 24th October 1827 [his son] George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 44] and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 34] at 10 Downing Street, Westminster [Map]. He married 8th April 1851 his first cousin once removed Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon and had issue.

On 9th January 1830 [his mother] Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham [aged 73] died. She was buried at the De Grey Mausoleum, St John the Baptist Church, Flitton [Map]. Memorial sculpted by W. T. Kelsey.

Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham: On 9th February 1756 she was born to Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke and Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey. In 1780 Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham and she were married. She by marriage Baroness Grantham. She the daughter of Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke and Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey. In 1816 Amabel Yorke Countess Grey was created 1st Countess de Grey with a special remainder to her sister Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham and her sister's male heirs.

In 1833 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 50] was created 1st Earl Ripon.

On 4th May 1833 [his aunt] Amabel Yorke Countess Grey [aged 82] died. Her nephew [his brother] Thomas [aged 51] succeeded 2nd Earl de Grey, 6th Baron Lucas of Crudwell. Monument at the De Grey Mausoleum, St John the Baptist Church, Flitton [Map].

Amabel Yorke Countess Grey: On 22nd February 1751 she was born to Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke and Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey.

On 8th April 1851 George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon [aged 23] and Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon [aged 17] were married. He the son of Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 68] and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 58]. They were first cousin once removed.

On 28th January 1859 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon [aged 76] died. He has a monument at All Saints' Church, Nocton [Map] sculpted by Matthew Noble [aged 41]. His son George [aged 31] succeeded 2nd Earl Ripon, 2nd Viscount Gooderich of Nocton in Lincolnshire. Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon [aged 25] by marriage Countess Ripon.

Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon: On 17th April 1833 she was born to Henry Vyner and Mary Gertude Robinson. On 8th April 1851 George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon and she were married. He the son of Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart. They were first cousin once removed. In 1871 George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon was created 1st Marquess Ripon. She by marriage Marchioness Ripon. On 28th February 1907 Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon died.

In 1867 [his former wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart [aged 74] died.
