On 25th July 1186 [his father] Hugh Lacy [aged 52] was killed by Gilla-Gan-Mathiar O'Maidhaigh at Durrow, County Offaly. He was buried at Durrow Abbey, Durrow, County Offaly, reburied at Bective Abbey, County Meath and reburied again at St Thomas' Abbey, Dublin.

Around 1201 [his daughter] Petronilla Lacy was born to Walter Lacy Lord Meath [aged 35] and Margaret de Braose. She married Ralph Tosny VI Lord Flamstead and had issue.

In 1205 Walter Lacy Lord Meath [aged 39] was appointed Lord Meath.

On 1st November 1206 [his son] Gilbert Lacy was born to Walter Lacy Lord Meath [aged 40] and Margaret de Braose at Ewyas Lacy, Herefordshire [Map]. He married before 1230 his third cousin once removed Isabel Bigod, daughter of Hugh Bigod 3rd Earl Norfolk and Maud Marshal Countess Norfolk and Surrey, and had issue.

In 1218 Walter Lacy Lord Meath [aged 52] was appointed High Sheriff of Hertfordshire.

Before 1230 [his son] Gilbert Lacy [aged 23] and [his daughter-in-law] Isabel Bigod [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of Hugh Bigod 3rd Earl Norfolk and Maud Marshal Countess Norfolk and Surrey [aged 35]. They were third cousin once removed.

In or before 1230 [his son-in-law] Richard Mór Burgh 1st Baron Connaught [aged 35] and [his daughter] Egidia Lacy Baroness Connaught were married. She by marriage Baroness Connaught.

Before 25th December 1230 [his son] Gilbert Lacy [aged 24] died at Trim, County Meath.

In 1241 Walter Lacy Lord Meath [aged 75] died.
