He the son of William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough [aged 53] and Edith Somerset Countess Londesborough [aged 49]. They were third cousins.
On 4th July 1890 Irene Denison Marchioness Carisbrooke was born to William Henry Francis Denison 2nd Earl Londesborough [aged 26] and Grace Adelaide Fane Countess Londesborough [aged 29].
On 19th April 1900 [her grandfather] William Henry Forester Denison 1st Earl Londesborough [aged 65] died. His succeeded son [her father] William Henry Francis Denison 2nd Earl Londesborough [aged 35] succeeded 2nd Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire, 3rd Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. [her mother] Grace Adelaide Fane Countess Londesborough [aged 39] by marriage Countess Londesborough in Yorkshire.

The marriage of Archibald Charles Montagu Acheson 5th Earl Gosford, elder son of the Archibald Brabazon Sparrow Acheson 4th Earl Gosford [aged 68] and Louisa Augusta Beatrice Montagu Countess Gosford [aged 54], and Miss Mildred Carter, only daughter of Mr. J. Ridgely Carter [aged 46], American Minister to Rumania, and Mrs. Ridgely Carter [aged 45], took place yesterday at St. George's, Hanover-square. The Sub-Dean of the Chapels Royal (the Rev. Edgar Sheppard, D.D.) performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. David Anderson and other clergy, and Mr. Ridgely Carter gave his daughter away. She wore a very simple wedding gown of soft white satin with a long train draped with old point de Venise, and a Venetian lace cap over a spray of myrtle and orange blossom, covered by a plain tulle veil. Master David Stanley, Master Julian Ward, and Miss Diana Roberts, dressed all in white, followed the bride, and there were seven bridesmaids, Theodosia Louisa Augusta Acheson [aged 28] (sister of the bridegroom), Lady Victoria Stanley, Mlle. Irene deo La Grange, Miss Canilla Morgan, the Hon. Rhoda Astley, Miss Elsie Nicholl, and Miss Marian Scranton, who wore white chiffon dresses with draped bodices and wreaths of myrtle beneath tulle veils. They also wore diamond neckislides and carried loose bunches of red roses. The Captain Patrick George Edward Cavendish Acheson [aged 26] was best man to his brother.

In 1917 [her father] William Henry Francis Denison 2nd Earl Londesborough [aged 52] died. His succeeded son [her brother] George Denison 3rd Earl of Londesborough [aged 24] succeeded 3rd Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire, 4th Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Marriage. Lord St. Germans [aged 28] and Lady Blanche Somerset [aged 21].
Princess Alexandra Duff Duchess Fife [aged 27] and the [her husband] Alexander Mountbatten 1st Marquess Carisbrooke [aged 31] and Marchioness [aged 27] of Carisbrooke were among the large company present yesterday at St. Margaret's [Map], Westminster, for the marriage of the Earl of St. Germans and Lady Blanche Somerset. The bridegroom, who is a captain in the Scots Greys, has served abroad since the beginning of the war, and received the Military Cross in 1916; the bride is the elder daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort.
The church was decorated with palms, variegated maple, and white flowers; and troopers of the bridegroom's regiment, drawn up inside the church, formed a guard of honour between the ranks of which the bridegroom and his best man, the Earl of Leven and Melville [aged 27], awaited her.
The wedding dress was of silver tissue over charmeuse, with a train of old Brussels point (given by the bride's mother), lined with silver. The veil, which was lent by the Duchess, was also of fine old lace. No bouquet was carried, nor were any ornaments worn.
In attendance upon the bride were her sister, Lady Diana Maud Nina Fitzroy [aged 19], Miss Betty Harford (her cousin), the Hon. Ivy Somerset (cousin of the bride and the bridegroom), Miss Betty Eliot (cousin of the bridegroom), Lady Morvyth Ward, and Lady Avice Sackville, whose frocks were of pale yellow georgette edged with silver. With these were worn small transparent hats of black lace, and bouquets of yellow tiger lilies were carried. The bridegroom's present to the bridesmaids was a red cornelian and jade pendant.
The music during the time the guests were assembling included a Bach prelude and fugue, and the Bridal Chorus from "Lohengrin"; the anthem "Rejoice in the Lord" was sung during the signing of the register.
There was a small reception afterwards (for relatives and intimate friends) at 11 Portman-square, after which Lord and Lady St. Germans left for Walmer Castle [Map], lent by Earl and Countess Beauchamp for the honeymoon.
On 13th January 1920 [her daughter] Iris Mountbatten was born to [her husband] Alexander Mountbatten 1st Marquess Carisbrooke [aged 33] and Irene Denison Marchioness Carisbrooke [aged 29]. She a great granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.
On 12th September 1920 George Denison 3rd Earl of Londesborough [aged 28] died unmarried. His succeeded brother Hugo Denison 4th Earl of Londesborough [aged 25] succeeded 4th Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire, 5th Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

On 13th June 1933 [her mother] Grace Adelaide Fane Countess Londesborough [aged 72] died.
On 7th September 1935 [her brother] Hugo Denison 4th Earl of Londesborough [aged 40] and [her sister-in-law] Marigold Lubbock Countess Londesborough [aged 32] were married at St Oswald's Church, Blankney. He the son of [her father] William Henry Francis Denison 2nd Earl Londesborough and [her mother] Grace Adelaide Fane Countess Londesborough.
On 17th April 1937 [her brother] Hugo Denison 4th Earl of Londesborough [aged 42] died. He was buried at St Oswald's Church, Blankney. The Earl had become ill and it was decided to move him to London for treatment; he died on the journey. Earl Londesborough in Yorkshire extinct. His succeeded first cousin once removed Ernest Denison 6th Baron Londesborough [aged 60] succeeded 6th Baron Londesborough of Londesborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The impact of death duties necessitated the sale of Blankney, Lincolnshire to Mr William Parker of Norfolk. The Countess, [her sister-in-law] Marigold Lubbock Countess Londesborough [aged 33], and her daughter [her niece] Zinnia Rosemary Denison, continued to live on the estate.



On 16th July 1956 Irene Denison Marchioness Carisbrooke [aged 66] died.
On 23rd February 1960 [her former husband] Alexander Mountbatten 1st Marquess Carisbrooke [aged 73] died.
