On 4th February 1638 Henry Ker and [his mother] Margaret Hay Countess Cassilis were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Hay 10th Earl Erroll and [his grandmother] Anne Lyon Countess Erroll. He the son of Robert Ker 1st Earl Roxburghe [aged 68] and Jean Drummond Countess Roxburghe [aged 53]. They were half fifth cousins.

On 15th March 1644 [his father] John Kennedy 6th Earl Cassilis and [his mother] Margaret Hay Countess Cassilis were married. She by marriage Countess Cassilis. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Hay 10th Earl Erroll and [his grandmother] Anne Lyon Countess Erroll. They were second cousin once removed.

In November 1653 John Kennedy 7th Earl Cassilis was born to John Kennedy 6th Earl Cassilis and Margaret Hay Countess Cassilis.

On 2nd May 1655 [his brother-in-law] William Ker 2nd Earl Roxburghe [aged 32] and [his half-sister] Jane Ker Countess Roxburgh were married. She by marriage Countess Roxburghe. She the daughter of Henry Ker and [his mother] Margaret Hay Countess Cassilis. He the son of John Drummond 2nd Earl Perth [aged 67] and Jean Ker Countess Perth. They were half first cousins.

In April 1668 [his father] John Kennedy 6th Earl Cassilis died. His son John [aged 14] succeeded 7th Earl Cassilis.

In December 1668 John Kennedy 7th Earl Cassilis [aged 15] and Susannah Hamilton Countess Cassilis [aged 35] were married. She by marriage Countess Cassilis. The difference in their ages was 20 years; she, unusually, being older than him. She the daughter of James Hamilton 1st Duke Hamilton and Margaret aka Mary Feilding. He the son of John Kennedy 6th Earl Cassilis and Margaret Hay Countess Cassilis. They were half second cousins.

Around 1672 [his son] John Kennedy Lord Kennedy was born to John Kennedy 7th Earl Cassilis [aged 18] and [his wife] Susannah Hamilton Countess Cassilis [aged 39]. He married in or before 1700 Elizabeth Hutchinson Countess Ruglen and had issue.

In or before May 1675 [his half-sister] Jane Ker Countess Roxburgh died.

In 1692 Charles Mohun 4th Baron Mohun Okehampton [aged 17] fought his first duel with John Kennedy 7th Earl Cassilis [aged 38]

In or before 1700 John Kennedy Lord Kennedy [aged 27] and Elizabeth Hutchinson Countess Ruglen [aged 22] were married. He the son of John Kennedy 7th Earl Cassilis [aged 46] and Susannah Hamilton Countess Cassilis.

Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut.
