On 15th July 1899 [her father] Anthony Ashley-Cooper 9th Earl of Shaftesbury [aged 29] and [her mother] Constance Grosvenor Countess of Shaftesbury [aged 23] were married. She by marriage Countess Shaftesbury. He the son of [her grandfather] Anthony Ashley-Cooper 8th Earl Shaftesbury and [her grandmother] Harriet Augusta Anna Seymourina Chichester Countess Shaftesbury. They were fifth cousins.
On 3rd October 1902 Mary Sibell Ashley-Cooper Baroness Alington was born to Anthony Ashley-Cooper 9th Earl of Shaftesbury [aged 33] and Constance Grosvenor Countess of Shaftesbury [aged 27].
On 30th July 1919 Humphrey Napier Sturt 2nd Baron Alington [aged 59] died. His son [her future husband] Napier [aged 22] succeeded 3rd Baron Alington.
On 18th July 1922 Louis Mountbatten 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma [aged 22] and Edwina Ashley [aged 20] were married at St Margaret's Church, Westminster [Map]. He the son of Prince Louis of Battenburg 1st Marquess Milford Haven and Victoria Hesse Darmstadt Marchioness Milford Haven [aged 59].
The wedding, which attracted hugh crowds, was attending by Queen Mary [aged 55], Queen Alexandra [aged 77] and the Prince of Wales.

On 27th November 1928 Napier Sturt 3rd Baron Alington [aged 32] and Mary Sibell Ashley-Cooper Baroness Alington [aged 26] were married. She by marriage Baroness Alington. She the daughter of Anthony Ashley-Cooper 9th Earl of Shaftesbury [aged 59] and Constance Grosvenor Countess of Shaftesbury [aged 53]. They were fourth cousins.

On 23rd July 1935 [her brother-in-law] Antony Head 1st Viscount Head [aged 28] and [her sister] Dorothea Louise Ashley-Cooper Viscountess Head [aged 28] were married. She the daughter of [her father] Anthony Ashley-Cooper 9th Earl of Shaftesbury [aged 65] and [her mother] Constance Grosvenor Countess of Shaftesbury [aged 59].
On 2nd August 1936 Mary Sibell Ashley-Cooper Baroness Alington [aged 33] died.
Westminster Chronicle of King Richard II, 1381-1394
The Westminster Chronicle is one of the most vivid and important narrative sources for the reign of Richard II. On 17th September 1940 [her former husband] Napier Sturt 3rd Baron Alington [aged 43] died of pneumonia in Cairo, Egypt whilst on active service. He was buried at the New British Protestant Cemetery, Cairo. Baron Alington extinct.
