John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath 1470-1539

Before 20th July 1470 [his father] Fulk Bourchier 10th Baron Fitzwarin [aged 24] and [his mother] Elizabeth Dynham Baroness Fitzwarin were married. She by marriage Baroness Fitzwarin.

On 20th July 1470 John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath was born to Fulk Bourchier 10th Baron Fitzwarin [aged 24] and Elizabeth Dynham Baroness Fitzwarin. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward III of England.

On 18th September 1479 [his father] Fulk Bourchier 10th Baron Fitzwarin [aged 33] died. He was buried at St Brannock's Church, Braunton. His son John [aged 9] succeeded 11th Baron Fitzwarin.

Around 29th September 1488 [his brother-in-law] James Tuchet 7th Baron Audley, 4th Baron Tuchet [aged 25] and [his sister] Joan Bourchier Baroness Audley and Tuchet were married. They were fourth cousin once removed. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

On 26th September 1490 John Tuchet 6th Baron Audley, 3rd Baron Tuchet [aged 64] died at Shere, Surrey. His son [his brother-in-law] James [aged 27] succeeded 7th Baron Audley of Heighley in Staffordshire, 4th Baron Tuchet. [his sister] Joan Bourchier Baroness Audley and Tuchet by marriage Baroness Audley of Heighley in Staffordshire, Baroness Tuchet.

After 10th September 1497 [his step-father] Thomas Brandon and [his mother] Elizabeth Dynham Baroness Fitzwarin were married.

In or shortly before 1499 John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath [aged 28] and Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 24] were married. She by marriage Baroness Fitzwarin. They were fifth cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward III of England.

In 1499 [his son] John Bourchier 2nd Earl Bath was born to John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath [aged 28] and [his wife] Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 25]. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England. He married (1) before 1515 his sixth cousin Elizabeth Hungerford and had issue (2) before 25th May 1524 his fourth cousin once removed Eleanor Manners Countess Bath, daughter of George Manners 11th Baron Ros Helmsley and Anne St Leger Baroness Ros of Helmsley, and had issue (3) Margaret Donnington Countess Bath.

Before 4th December 1506 Roger Darcy [aged 28] and [his future wife] Elizabeth Wentworth Countess Bath [aged 36] were married.

On 21st May 1508 [his father-in-law] Giles Daubeney 1st Baron Daubeney [aged 56] died. His son [his brother-in-law] Henry [aged 14] succeeded 2nd Baron Daubeney. Catherine Howard Countess Bridgewater [aged 9] by marriage Baroness Daubeney.

In 1516 [his mother] Elizabeth Dynham Baroness Fitzwarin died.

Before 25th May 1524 John Bourchier 2nd Earl Bath [aged 25] and Eleanor Manners Countess Bath [aged 21] were married at Hengrave Hall, Bury St Edmunds. He the son of John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath [aged 53] and Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 50]. They were fourth cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England. Before October 1524 Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 50] died. He death sometimes given as 30th April 1539 although this is inconsistent with his second wife having died in Oct 1524.

On 3rd March 1532 [his sister] Joan Bourchier Baroness Audley and Tuchet died.

On 9th July 1536 John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath [aged 65] was created 1st Earl Bath. [his wife] Elizabeth Wentworth Countess Bath [aged 66] by marriage Countess Bath.

On 30th April 1539 John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath [aged 68] died. He was buried at St Brannock's Church, Braunton. His son John [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Earl Bath, 4th Count Eu, 12th Baron Fitzwarin. Eleanor Manners Countess Bath [aged 36] by marriage Countess Bath.

After 22nd September 1545 [his former wife] Elizabeth Wentworth Countess Bath [deceased] died at Little Malden, Suffolk.

[his daughter] Elizabeth Bourchier was born to John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath and Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England. She married before 27th July 1526 Edward Chichester and had issue.

[his son] Amias Bourchier was born to John Bourchier 1st Earl Bath and Cecily Daubeney Baroness Fitzwarin. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England.
