Before 9th August 1795 [his father] Charles Sturt of Crichel and Brownsea Castle [aged 32] and [his mother] Mary Anne Ashley Cooper were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Anthony Ashley-Cooper 4th Earl Shaftesbury and [his grandmother] Mary Bouverie Countess Shaftesbury [aged 64].

On 9th August 1795 Henry Charles Sturt was born to Charles Sturt of Crichel and Brownsea Castle [aged 32] and Mary Anne Ashley Cooper and Brownsea Castle.

In 1812 [his father] Charles Sturt of Crichel and Brownsea Castle [aged 49] died.

In 1817 Henry Charles Sturt [aged 21] was elected MP Bridport which seat he held until 1820.

On 15th August 1820 Henry Charles Sturt [aged 25] and Charlotte Penelope Brudenell were married. She the daughter of Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan [aged 51] and Penelope Cooke Countess Cardigan [aged 50].

On 16th May 1825 [his son] Henry Gerard Sturt 1st Baron Alington was born to Henry Charles Sturt [aged 29] and [his wife] Charlotte Penelope Brudenell. He married (1) 10th September 1853 his first cousin Augusta Bingham Baroness Alington, daughter of George Charles Bingham 3rd Earl Lucan and Anne Brudenell Countess Lucan, and had issue (2) 10th February 1892 Evelyn Henrietta Leigh Baroness Alington.

On 19th June 1826 [his brother-in-law] James Brudenell 7th Earl Cardigan [aged 28] and Elizabeth Tollemache Countess Cardigan [aged 28] were married. Separated in 1846. He the son of [his father-in-law] Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan [aged 57] and [his mother-in-law] Penelope Cooke Countess Cardigan.

On 18th August 1828 Henry Pelham 3rd Earl Chichester [aged 23] and [his sister-in-law] Mary Brudenell Countess Chichester [aged 22] were married at St Mary's Church Cadogan Street. She by marriage Countess Chichester. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan [aged 59] and [his mother-in-law] Penelope Cooke Countess Cardigan. He the son of Thomas Pelham 2nd Earl Chichester and Mary Henrietta Juliana Osborne Countess Chichester [aged 51]. They were fifth cousins.

In 1830 Henry Charles Sturt [aged 34] was elected MP Dorchester.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

In 1835 Henry Charles Sturt [aged 39] was elected MP Dorset which seat he held until 1846.

In 1835 Sophia Howe 2nd Baroness Howe died. Her son Richard [aged 38] succeeded 3rd Baron Howe. [his sister-in-law] Harriet Georgiana Brudenell Countess Howe [aged 36] by marriage Baroness Howe.

In 1836 [his sister-in-law] Harriet Georgiana Brudenell Countess Howe [aged 37] died.

On 14th August 1837 [his father-in-law] Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan [aged 68] died at Marylebone. His son [his brother-in-law] James [aged 39] succeeded 7th Earl Cardigan, 7th Baron Brudenell of Stonton in Leicestershire, 3rd Baron Brudenell Deene in Northamptonshire. Elizabeth Tollemache Countess Cardigan [aged 39] by marriage Countess Cardigan.

In 1848 [his son-in-law] Thomas Baring 1st Earl Northbrook [aged 21] and [his daughter] Elizabeth Sturt Baroness Northbrook were married.

On 10th September 1853 [his son] Henry Gerard Sturt 1st Baron Alington [aged 28] and [his daughter-in-law] Augusta Bingham Baroness Alington [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of George Charles Bingham 3rd Earl Lucan [aged 53] and Anne Brudenell Countess Lucan [aged 44]. They were first cousins.

On 28th September 1858 [his brother-in-law] James Brudenell 7th Earl Cardigan [aged 60] and Adeline Horsey Countess Cardigan [aged 33] were married; she had been his mistress since 1857. She by marriage Countess Cardigan. The marriage something of a scandal since James Brudenell 7th Earl Cardigan had left his first wife; Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom [aged 39] refused to have Adeline at court. See My Recollections by Adeline Horsey. The difference in their ages was 27 years. He the son of [his father-in-law] Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan and [his mother-in-law] Penelope Cooke Countess Cardigan.

On 6th July 1865 [his son-in-law] St George Gerald Foley [aged 50] and [his daughter] Augusta Selina Sturt were married. They were fourth cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 14th April 1866 Henry Charles Sturt [aged 70] died.

In 1879 [his former wife] Charlotte Penelope Brudenell died.

The History of William Marshal, Earl of Chepstow and Pembroke, Regent of England. Book 1 of 2, Lines 1-10152.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

[his daughter] Elizabeth Sturt Baroness Northbrook was born to Henry Charles Sturt and Charlotte Penelope Brudenell. She married 1848 Thomas Baring 1st Earl Northbrook, son of Francis Baring 1st Baron Northbrook and Jane Grey, and had issue.

[his daughter] Augusta Selina Sturt was born to Henry Charles Sturt and Charlotte Penelope Brudenell. She married 6th July 1865 her fourth cousin once removed St George Gerald Foley, son of Thomas Foley 3rd Baron Foley and Cecilia Olivia Geraldine Fitzgerald Baroness Foley, and had issue.
