Richard Cecil 1570-1633

In or before 1566 Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 23] and [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 17] were married.

On 7th December 1570 Richard Cecil was born to Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 28] and Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 22].

On 22nd April 1577 John Neville 4th Baron Latimer of Snape [aged 57] died. He was buried at St Michaels Church, Well. Baron Latimer of Snape abeyant between daughters Katherine Neville Countess Northumberland [aged 32], [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 29], [his aunt] Lucy Neville [aged 28] and Elizabeth Neville [aged 27].

In 1585 Richard Cecil [aged 14] educated Jesus College.

On 28th February 1587 [his brother-in-law] William Paulet 4th Marquess Winchester [aged 28] and [his sister] Lucy Cecil Marchioness Winchester were married at St Martin in the Fields Church [Map]. She the daughter of [his father] Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 44] and [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 39]. He the son of William Paulet 3rd Marquess Winchester [aged 55] and Agnes Howard Marchioness Winchester [aged 52]. They were half fourth cousins.

In January 1589 William Cecil 2nd Earl Exeter [aged 23] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Manners 15th Baroness Ros of Helmsley [aged 14] were married at Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire [Map]. She the daughter of Edward Manners 3rd Earl of Rutland and Isabel Holcroft Countess Rutland [aged 39]. He the son of [his father] Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 46] and [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 41]. They were fifth cousins.

In 1591 Richard Cecil [aged 20] educated Gray's Inn.

After 1591 William Cecil 2nd Earl Exeter [aged 25] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Drury Countess Exeter [aged 12] were married. He the son of [his father] Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 48] and [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 43]. They were third cousin once removed.

On 24th November 1598 William Paulet 3rd Marquess Winchester [aged 66] died. His son William [aged 39] succeeded 4th Marquess Winchester, 4th Earl Wiltshire, 4th Baron St John. [his sister] Lucy Cecil Marchioness Winchester by marriage Marchioness Winchester.

Around 1600 David Cecil 3rd Earl Exeter was born to Richard Cecil [aged 29] and [his future wife] Elizabeth Cope. He married before 1633 Elizabeth Egerton Countess Exeter, daughter of John Egerton 1st Earl Bridgewater and Frances Stanley Countess Bridgewater, and had issue.

In 1601 Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 58] was created 1st Earl Exeter. [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter [aged 53] by marriage Countess Exeter.

In 1616 Richard Cecil [aged 45] was knighted.

In February 1618 Edward Cecil 1st Viscount Wimbledon [aged 45] and [his sister-in-law] Diana Drury Viscountess Wimbledon were married. He the son of [his father] Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 75] and [his mother] Dorothy Neville Countess Exeter. They were third cousin once removed.

On 8th February 1623 Thomas Cecil 1st Earl Exeter [aged 80] died. He was buried at Chapel of St John the Baptist, Westminster Abbey [Map]. His son William [aged 57] succeeded 2nd Earl Exeter, 3rd Baron Burghley. [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Drury Countess Exeter [aged 45] by marriage Countess Exeter.

On 2nd April 1624 John Tufton 1st Baronet [aged 80] died. His son Nicholas [aged 46] succeeded 2nd Baronet Tufton of Hothfield. Frances Cecil Countess Isle Thanet [aged 43] by marriage Lady Tufton of Hothfield.

In November 1625 Edward Cecil 1st Viscount Wimbledon [aged 53] was created 1st Viscount Wimbledon, 1st Baron Cecil of Putney. [his sister-in-law] Diana Drury Viscountess Wimbledon by marriage Viscountess Wimbledon.

On 17th October 1626 Edward Denny 1st Earl Norwich [aged 57] was created 1st Earl Norwich. [his sister] Mary Cecil Countess Norwich by marriage Countess Norwich.

On 1st November 1626 Nicholas Tufton 1st Earl of Thanet [aged 48] was created 1st Baron Tufton. Frances Cecil Countess Isle Thanet [aged 45] by marriage Baroness Tufton.

On 5th August 1628 Nicholas Tufton 1st Earl of Thanet [aged 50] was created 1st Earl of Thanet. Frances Cecil Countess Isle Thanet [aged 47] by marriage Countess of Thanet.

Before 1633 David Cecil 3rd Earl Exeter [aged 32] and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Egerton Countess Exeter were married. She the daughter of John Egerton 1st Earl Bridgewater [aged 53] and Frances Stanley Countess Bridgewater [aged 49].

On 4th September 1633 Richard Cecil [aged 62] died. He was buried at Wakerley, Northamptonshire [Map].
