On 22nd November 1392 Robert de Vere 1st Duke Ireland [aged 30] was killed whilst hunting at Louvain [Map]. His uncle [his father] Aubrey [aged 54] succeeded 10th Earl of Oxford.
Before 1399 Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 13] and Alice Holland Countess of Oxford [aged 6] were married. She the daughter of John Holland 1st Duke Exeter [aged 46] and Elizabeth Lancaster Duchess Exeter [aged 35]. He the son of Aubrey de Vere 10th Earl of Oxford [aged 60] and Alice Fitzwalter Countess of Oxford. They were fifth cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England. She a great granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
On 15th February 1400 [his father] Aubrey de Vere 10th Earl of Oxford [aged 62] died. His son Richard [aged 14] succeeded 11th Earl of Oxford. [his wife] Alice Holland Countess of Oxford [aged 8] by marriage Countess of Oxford.
In 1401 [his mother] Alice Fitzwalter Countess of Oxford died.
Before 1st June 1402 Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk 2nd Earl Nottingham [aged 16] and [his sister-in-law] Constance Holland Countess Norfolk and Nottingham [aged 15] were married. She by marriage Countess Norfolk, Countess Nottingham. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] John Holland 1st Duke Exeter and [his mother-in-law] Elizabeth Lancaster Duchess Exeter [aged 39]. He the son of Thomas Mowbray 1st Duke of Norfolk and Elizabeth Fitzalan Duchess Norfolk [aged 36]. They were third cousins. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward I of England. She a great granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
Around 1406 Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 20] and Alice Sergeaux Countess Oxford were married. She by marriage Countess of Oxford. He the son of Aubrey de Vere 10th Earl of Oxford and Alice Fitzwalter Countess of Oxford.
Around 1406 [his wife] Alice Holland Countess of Oxford [aged 14] died.
Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans
Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

On 23rd April 1408 [his son] John de Vere 12th Earl of Oxford was born to Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 22] and [his wife] Alice Sergeaux Countess Oxford at Hedingham Castle [Map]. He married 1425 Elizabeth Howard Countess of Oxford and had issue.
In 1410 [his son] Robert de Vere was born to Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 24] and [his wife] Alice Sergeaux Countess Oxford. He married his fifth cousin once removed Joan Courtenay and had issue.
In 1413 Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 27] was appointed 126th Knight of the Garter by King Henry V of England [aged 26].
On 31st July 1415, when King Henry V of England [aged 28] was in Portchester Castle, Hampshire [Map] preparing to invade France, Edmund Mortimer 5th Earl March 7th Earl of Ulster [aged 23] revealed the Southampton Plot to him. Henry Scrope 3rd Baron Scrope of Masham [aged 42], Thomas Grey of Werke and Heaton [aged 30], and Richard of Conisbrough 1st Earl Cambridge [aged 30] were intending to replace King Henry V of England with Edmund Mortimer 5th Earl March 7th Earl of Ulster as King of England based on Edmund Mortimer 5th Earl March 7th Earl of Ulster having a better claim to the throne being descended from Edward III's second son Lionel of Antwerp 1st Duke of Clarence whereas King Henry V of England was descended from the third son John of Gaunt 1st Duke Lancaster.
Robert Willoughby 6th Baron Willoughby [aged 30], Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 29], Thomas Montagu 1st Count Perche 4th Earl Salisbury [aged 27] and Thomas Camoys 1st Baron Camoys [aged 64] sat in judgement.
On 25th October 1415 King Henry V of England [aged 29] defeated a French army at the Battle of Agincourt.
The battle is described by three Chroniclers who were present:
Jean de Waurin: "1, the author of this work, know the truth of the matter, for in that assembly I was among the French".
Jean le Fevre de St Remy: "I who write this, seated on a horse among the baggage at the rear of the battle, along with the other priests who were present".

Thomas Camoys 1st Baron Camoys [aged 64] commanded the Rearguard. Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 30] commanded. Humphrey Lancaster 1st Duke Gloucester [aged 25] was wounded, and was protected by his brother King Henry V of England.
Edward 2nd Duke of York 1st Duke Albemarle [aged 42], commander of the Vanguard, was killed; the most senior English casualty. Duke Albemarle, Earl of Rutland and Earl Cork extinct. His nephew Richard [aged 4] succeeded 3rd Duke York and inherited his estates including Conisbrough Castle [Map].
John Fortescue [aged 35], Dafydd Gam Brecon [aged 35] and Edward Burnell [aged 44] and Roger Vaughan of Bredwardine [aged 38] were killed.
Michael de la Pole 3rd Earl Suffolk [aged 21] was killed. His brother William [aged 19] succeeded 4th Earl Suffolk, 4th Baron Pole.
On 15th February 1417 Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 31] died. His son John [aged 8] succeeded 12th Earl of Oxford.
