On 14th February 1752 [his father] James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon [aged 27] and [his mother] Elizabeth Gunning [aged 18] met at a Valentine's Ball at Bedford House Covent Garden. They were married that night at Keith's Chapel, Mayfair; the location being one where he didn't require a license. This before the Marriage Act of 1753. Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll by marriage Duchess Hamilton, Duchess Brandon of Suffolk.

On 24th July 1756 Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon was born to James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon [aged 32] and Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 22] at Holyrood Palace, Holyrood.

On 17th January 1758 [his father] James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon [aged 33] died. His son [his brother] James [aged 2] succeeded 7th Duke Hamilton, 4th Duke Brandon of Suffolk, 4th Baron Dutton of Cheshire.

On 3rd January 1759 [his step-father] John Campbell 5th Duke Argyll [aged 35] and [his mother] Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 25] were married. He the son of John Campbell 4th Duke Argyll [aged 66] and Mary Drummond Bellenden.

On 21st July 1761 Archibald Douglas 1st Duke of Douglas [aged 66] died. Duke Douglas extinct. His half second cousin twice removed [his brother] James [aged 6] succeeded 3rd Marquess Douglas.

Around 1763 Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon [aged 6] educated at Eton College [Map].

On 7th July 1769 James Hamilton 7th Duke Hamilton 4th Duke Brandon [aged 14] died at Hamilton Palace, Hamilton. His brother Douglas [aged 12] succeeded 8th Duke Hamilton, 5th Duke Brandon of Suffolk, 4th Marquess Douglas, 5th Baron Dutton of Cheshire.

On 9th November 1770 John Campbell 4th Duke Argyll [aged 77] died. His son [his step-father] John [aged 47] succeeded 5th Duke Argyll. [his mother] Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 36] by marriage Countess Argyll.

On 23rd June 1774 [his brother-in-law] Edward Smith-Stanley 12th Earl of Derby [aged 21] and [his sister] Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Derby [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of [his father] James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon and [his mother] Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 40].

On 22nd February 1776 Edward Stanley 11th Earl of Derby [aged 86] died. His grandson [his brother-in-law] Edward [aged 23] succeeded 12th Earl Derby, 6th Baronet Stanley of Bickerstaffe. [his sister] Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Derby [aged 23] by marriage Countess Derby.

Anne Boleyn. Her Life as told by Lancelot de Carle's 1536 Letter.

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

She by marriage Duchess Hamilton, Duchess Brandon of Suffolk. He the son of James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon and Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 43].

On 23rd May 1779 Hugh Percy 2nd Duke Northumberland [aged 36] and [his sister-in-law] Frances Julia Burrell Duchess Northumberland [aged 26] were married. He the son of Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 63] and Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland.

On 6th June 1786 Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 70] died. His son Hugh [aged 43] succeeded 2nd Duke Northumberland, 2nd Baron Lovain, 5th Baronet Smithson of Stanwick in Yorkshire. [his sister-in-law] Frances Julia Burrell Duchess Northumberland [aged 33] by marriage Duchess Northumberland.

On 6th February 1788 Archibald Montgomerie 11th Earl Eglinton [aged 61] and Frances Twysden [aged 25] were divorced on account of her affair with Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon [aged 31].

On 26th May 1788 Susanna Montgomerie was born to Archibald Montgomerie 11th Earl Eglinton [aged 62] and Frances Twysden [aged 25]. Her biological father may have been Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon [aged 31].

In 1790 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 39] was created 1st Earl Beverley. [his sister-in-law] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 39] by marriage Countess Beverley.

On 14th March 1797 [his sister] Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Derby [aged 44] died of tuberculosis.

On 1st May 1797 [his former brother-in-law] Edward Smith-Stanley 12th Earl of Derby [aged 44] and Elizabeth Farren Countess Derby [aged 38] were married. She by marriage Countess Derby. The marriage taking place six weeks after the death of his estranged wife [his sister] Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Derby.

On 2nd August 1799 Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon [aged 43] died at Hamilton Palace, Hamilton. His uncle Archibald [aged 59] succeeded 9th Duke Hamilton, 6th Duke Brandon of Suffolk, 5th Marquess Douglas, 6th Baron Dutton of Cheshire. His half brother George [aged 30] succeeded 3rd Baron Hamilton of Hameldon in Leicestershire.

The History of William Marshal, Earl of Chepstow and Pembroke, Regent of England. Book 1 of 2, Lines 1-10152.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

In 1800 Henry Cecil 1st Marquess Exeter [aged 45] and [his former wife] Elizabeth Anne Burrell Duchess Hamilton Duchess Brandon [aged 42] were married. She by marriage Countess Exeter.

On 17th January 1837 [his former wife] Elizabeth Anne Burrell Duchess Hamilton Duchess Brandon [aged 79] died. She was buried in the Northumberland Vault, Crypt, Westminster Abbey.
