On 7th November 1745 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn was born to Frederick Louis Hanover Prince of Wales [aged 38] and Augusta Saxe Coburg Altenburg [aged 25] at Leicester House. He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 30th November 1745 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn was christened at Leicester House.

He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

In 1767 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn [aged 21] was appointed 587th Knight of the Garter by [his brother] King George III of Great Britain and Ireland [aged 28].

On 17th September 1767 [his brother] Prince Edward Hanover 1st Duke of York [aged 28] died at York Room, Prince's Palace. Duke of York and Albany extinct.

In 1769 Richard Grosvenor 1st Earl Grosvenor [aged 37] brought an action against Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn [aged 23] for having criminal conversation with Richard's wife Henrietta Vernon Countess Grosvenor [aged 33] having been discovered in flagrante delicto and was awarded damages of £10,000 and £3000 costs.

In 1771 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn [aged 25] and Anne Luttrell Duchess Cumberland and Strathearn [aged 27] were married. She by marriage Duchess Cumberland and Strathearn. She the daughter of Simon Luttrell 1st Earl Carhampton [aged 58] and Judith Maria Lawes Countess Carhampton [aged 51]. He the son of Frederick Louis Hanover Prince of Wales and Augusta Saxe Coburg Altenburg [aged 51].

On 8th February 1772 [his mother] Augusta Saxe Coburg Altenburg [aged 52] died at Cartlon House.

Anne Luttrell Duchess Cumberland and Strathearn: On 24th January 1743 she was born to Simon Luttrell 1st Earl Carhampton and Judith Maria Lawes Countess Carhampton at Marylebone. In 1771 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn and she were married. She by marriage Duchess Cumberland and Strathearn. She the daughter of Simon Luttrell 1st Earl Carhampton and Judith Maria Lawes Countess Carhampton. He the son of Frederick Louis Hanover Prince of Wales and Augusta Saxe Coburg Altenburg. On 28th December 1808 Anne Luttrell Duchess Cumberland and Strathearn died.

On 18th September 1790 Henry Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland and Strathearn [aged 44] died. Duke Cumberland and Strathearn extinct.

Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans

Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.
